I love how this piece works conceptually. Female relationships can be so intimate and our lives and those of our friends become so intertwined, very much like the limbs of the women in this image. It’s also so nice how there’s an element of support being communicated by the two outside figures holding the legs of the central figure. And there are just so many other female themes being portrayed. The pose feels similar to something one might see in childbirth. The V-shape made by the figures being a symbol of the feminine. Calling it a weave, a task thought traditionally to be done by women, all of these ideas are just being conveyed so beautifully in this photograph.

The way and manner a weave is made, a weave can never be achieved by a single straight strand. There has to be other strands which would be interwoven to achieve what is called a weave. The process of making a weave is usually collective and unified such that the exclusion of one makes it impossible for the other to even stay together, talk more of forming a weave. This work of art tells us how in so many instances and cases, unity and collective work is extremely vital and important. The artist is passing an important message here
